Similar problem
I am getting the following on boot up
'IDE channel 5 Master HD SMART. status bad.
Warning: Immediate backup of your data & replace hard disk. A failure may be imminent'.
My machine is 18 months old. I have just contacted MESH and await response.
A piece of advise for anyone having similar problems. Do not be fobbed off with machine out of warranty. The Sale of Goods Act protects consumers - it is reasonable to expect machine components to last for more than 18 months.
MESH has a duty of care to their customers. I for one, if I get messed around, with quickly report MESH to Trading Standards and also, write to every magazine that carries MESH adverts or recommends them to advise them of MESH's failings.
So MESH needs to replace the hard disk with good faith or lose sales through bad publicity.
