My BF killed his computer and couldn't find the original disk. I have reinstalled windows xp from a non oem disk but i cant get the ethernet to recognise the modem - do i need to install drivers? And if so what and from where. The machine is a Elite2 D920

Many thanks

Please make sure you've added your Mesh order number into your profile, that way staff can lookup your computer's specifications.

I'd recommend installing DriverMAX as that will automatically identify the drivers you need.

Thanks - will try do do both now - I only realised that this machine wasn't on the list after it stopped working. Currently trying to get drivers for the sound card which is just described as 7.1 channel surround sound audio apart from that it seems ok

All the drivers you are referring to will be available from the motherboard manufacturers website. (commonly Asus but other makes have also occasionally been used).

Hi Harmoni,

You can find drivers for the ASUS P5RD2-VM motherboard including the onboard devices such as sound here.

Hi Davey, Thanks for coming to the rescue!!! - tried driver max but all chaos ensued - drivers it suggested didn't want to play and then the cd/dvd stopped working. Have started again so now just have windows and net access. What exactly do i need to download from Asus - I can see the audio driver - do i just run this??; what else do i need? also i came up against a dos files before and didn't know what to do with it. Please can I have the idiots version as i dont rly want to start again if i mess up.

Thank you so much . . .

So far I have installed the audio drivers and got sound back - which is oh so exciting. I also installed the lan drivers although as the pc has a USB wireless dongle I cant tell if this works. Have also put on the graphics card drivers. Do I need anything else?

Check in Device Manager to see if there are any yellow question or exclamation marks, that usually denotes missing drivers.
