Default 32 or 64 bit?

Last week I purchased a Nero 9850HD with a few upgrades, and fitted with a 32 bit O.S. but I now realise this may has been a mistake, as one of the mods was 8gb RAM which I see from various members comments that only 3GB will be recognised out of the 8GB fitted, so that was a waste of money!
When Windows7 arrives and I purchased a 64 bit version would this be O.K. on my P.C.? I would be grateful of any advice.

Yes 32bit OS will only recognise 3GB of RAM, and apparently though can show 3.5GB with a 512MB RAM stick, it won't use that RAM stick.
Windows! weirdos! lol

Although I chose 64bit when I bought my 9850 Nero, I now see they are only offering 64bit OS (desite reading they are out of windows disks for 64bit).
But basically, purchasing windows 7 64 bit will be fine to run on your pc, as i'm running vista 64bit fine.
most if not all pc's running vista can run windows 7.

Hi jammyh
If you want, you can head over to Microsoft, sign up for the RC and download the 64bit Release Candidate to try. Works like a dream and wont stop working until June 2010

Hope this helps

Hello Eejit,
Thanks for that great piece of advice, I downloaded the 64-bit Windows 7
R.C. and it's a wonderful Operating System, personally I think it's so much better than Vista, so much smoother & faster and feels very stable.
I had no problem with drivers for printer & scanner but did with Microsoft OneCare anti-virus !! so I installed AVG free version 8.5 without a problem.
Thanks once again
Regards

Jammyh
