Default Game Pad & Gaming Keyboard

Hi Just bought a new PC and i'm currently playing Fear 2 & Fifa 09 but having difficulties playing with no Game Pad.

Can any recoomend a good game pad not too expensive and works with Vista 64 & Windows 7?

I also play at lot of MMO's so is the Logitech G15 a good inestment for this type of thing or should i look to buy a Z-Board?

Thanks

The best I have used is an XBox 360 controller. It is already configured to work with Vista so you will have no issues unlike some other makes that often require additional thrid party drivers.

Great thanks very much. The wired one seems a pretty good buy at £17.99

Cheers.

Does anyone know much about the Logitech G15 was looking at this or Z-Board?

What are people's opinion of both?

The G15 is the better board (or if you want to spend loads get the G19)

A lot depends on what you want from the keyboard. If you want the screen and programmable keys the G15 is great but I personally know I wouldn't use them and just wanted a quality keyboard with backlit keys. I currently use the Saitek Eclypse II here but would also consider the Razor range of boards here

Hi RJack,

The Zboard looks cool but after so many swapping of keyboard layouts I play Warcraft using the bog standard keyset with the gaming one and Warcraft specific (yes I did buy it ) sitting at the back of a drawer some place.

The G15 is very comfortable under the fingers. You get a clear tactile response when you hit the keys but a nice soft reaction if you're typing fast.

Given the choice, the G15 or variation of would be my choice.

For gamepad, I've gone through a few different makes and models and in my opinion none beats the 360 controller. The 360 headset is picked up as a USB audio device which is handy for voice comms when playing on line as well. I prefer the wired setup but I understand the wireless is also effective.

Davey
