Disk Boot Failure
Received the message DISK BOOT FAILURE on booting this morning. 15 hours later and I'm trying to diagnose the hard disk (Mesh-installed 1TB Samsung Spinpoint HD103UJ) but cannot without SMART being enabled.
Samsung's own stone-age hard disk utilities don't work, citing insufficient memory when booting from CD/DVD.
Does anyone know any other way of enabling SMART on this crumby disk?
£1,000 worth of high-end quad-core Vista PC and nothing but grief - arbitrary slow running, crashes, BSODs, count them THREE Vista reinstallations, since I bought it last Septermber ...
