Default Mesh computers from HELL!

hi all,

I have been thinking about buying a new rig for a very long time. I haven't updated my old PC for 6 years, so finally I decided to go for something radically new. MESH looked like a serious website, and after comparing extensively I made a big order from them, and hopefully it will come in towards the second half of this month. I realized only afterwards how bad the situation is. Apparently every new system have recurring problems, sometimes difficult to explain and to solve, even for tech support. Most of them look to be related to poor assembly/installation from the company (no offense). I now dread the moment my PC will arrive (if it will, after having read the forum) because I have the feeling it will have to go straight to tech support for whatever reason.

Is anybody there who HASN'T had problems so far? I would like to hear something positive!

Cheers!

I was just like you! Once I read the forums I regretted my decision to buy from MESH.
HOWEVER! I have had 0 ZERO 0 problems with my PC.
The only time it did go wrong was due to my mistake and windows update being an idiot.

Everything has worked, (cept the case fan at the back, due to Q-fan on asus boards, it disables the CHA_FAN on motherboard, and switched to PSU_FAN now works flawlessly)

updating the BIOS has reduced overheating problems (Which I expect. as BIOS updates are not exactly MESH's fault.)

I have had none of the problems listed in the forum and my PC is tropping away quite happily with it being on for about 14 hours a day straight sometimes.

Hi NeroZ,
You seem to forget that the majority of people who come to these forums have problems.
The vast majority of people who buy don't have problems so never venture to these forums.
I would suspect that the ratio between happy and disgruntled customers is in the favour of the happy, and all manufacturers will have thier fair share of problems.
There are a few people on here who don't/haven't had any major problems and try to help others.

I've had my Mesh for about 2 1/2 years without any problems. The only problems I have incurred were self inflicted (well by my son really) and Mesh helped me sort it out.

Hope this helps

As has been said before you only find complaints on the forum since happy customers have no reason to visit here.

I'm on my second Mesh. The first is still going strong after about 6 years and so is the latest which has been running almost 24/7 for the past 3 years.

You'll probably also find that most complaints are from users that don't know much about PC's. Not knowing how to keep a clean and efficient system, installing incompatible 32bit XP drivers/apps onto 64bit Vista then complaining about BSOD's. I have NEVER had to re-install my Vista 32bit OS, sure I've had problems but nothing a quick Google couldn't resolve.

I haven't had problems, nor have many other customers. My graphics card recently died after two and a half years and was swapped over on-site by Mesh without any question (The original engineer was useless but that's not the fault of Mesh and it was sorted quickly and efficiently). Until then the computer has worked flawlessly from day one. All the components are made by top branded manufacturers which further enhances what a good deal Mesh offer.

What you must take into account (and what has been said many times previously in this forum) is that Mesh sell thousands of computers each year. The number of problems listed on this forum are small in comparison and as it is a customer care and technical support forum you will find most of the posts are registering some kind of disatisfaction therefore not providing the casual user with a balanced view on which to make their assumptions.

I must say that after a week of difficult INTERNET/network issues it is seeming likely that it is an issue in our new Inspire PC. I will contacting Mesh seriously early next week and depending on the level of support I receive will determine weather I will be returning it under consumer rights registration as unfit for purpose.I will insist that if we keep it we receive the Windows 7 upgrade featured on Mesh's site yesterday. Also it would be useful if I could complete you support login in process which seems to have a broken web page link. So far then not so good!!!

Don't forget that most people come on the internet to complain so you are less likely to hear from people whose computer is working perfectly.

Cheers guys!

This is reassuring, as I have been waiting for a very long time to buy a new PC and invested considerable money in it, and that is why I am panicking now. Something in your replies makes me wonder though...Some of you mentioned that they had to open their PC and change jumpers on the motherboard and so on. Wouldn't that void the warranty?

Best,

NeroZ

Default I'm quite happy..

I've had my quad core jobby from Mesh for about 18 months now. I haven't had any major issues that I couldn't solve. Most were driver problems as I have loaded the thing up with music software and a midi keyboard, and I am pretty clueless when it comes to computers. No major crashes, nothing that looks like the computer is dying. I love the thing, it's fast and I like the Vista Premium that came with it. I keep finding new stuff. As I say the only frustrating problems have been with sound..I'm not over keen on the logitech speakers, and I keep having to mess about to get things working again, all a bit random. I'm a happy customer, I was just visiting today because I was curious what sort of issies people are having . I did visit a few times at the beginning as I am somewhat lacking in expertise and needed guidance.

That's good to hear mugwump71, but I was also thinking a couple of more issues.

I understand, as DJT298 mentioned, that large selling volumes mean much more problems to solve for more customers, and some customers might have little or no experience with computers (as pointed out by Eejit). Although there are things I see in the forum that are probably independent from software/experience issues. These include loose screws in the assembly, damaged parts, loose/unconnected cables, computers not turning on, big misunderstandings when dealing with tech support (with computers travelling around all the time), bad communication with customers at expensive premium rates. I am just referring to what I have read.
How responsible is the company for that? Probably a lot.
