Default Death of a Wireless Mouse

Still getting to grips with my new Matrix Pro 250 , the cursor [pointer?] with a mind of its own moved swiftly from centre screen to top left corner - and remained there.
I checked the battery, switched the mouse off and on a couple of times, poked the connection button - no response.

Wired mouse to the rescue! I carried on with my task. The keyboard worked as normal.

I have shut down the computer a number of times since the fault appeared, but the wireless mouse remains dormant.

I am reluctant to return the computer for servicing.

Any suggestions please before I heave the weeks-old Mesh mouse into the rubbish bin?

Wireless mice often need seperate drivers.
i.e. a microsoft wireless mouse needs Intellipoint software.

Don`t know what make or model mouse you have, but check these 2 forums it might help. Also check USB root hub to see if device is working and check manufcturer for driver updates. Or search other forums. Hope this helps.

Just found this: Troubleshoot a wireless mouse that does not function correctly a toubleshooting guide if you have a microsoft product.

If it`s a Logitech product, you may need to install Setpoint 4.4

Good Luck

Hi patthepiper,

Please don't post your system serial number or order number in your posts. I've put the reference have used in your profile in a place only you or we can see for safe keeping.

When you use the connection button, are you pressing the mouse one and then the receiver one in order to re-sync them properly? If you only press one of them then you are telling to listen out for it's pairing but the other item is not responding so the pairing fails.

Davey
