Hi All,

I would like to see a section on software which is installed on Mesh PCs such as: XP, Vista, Office etc. Sort of problems, tips and tricks...from and for users only (I don't mean Mesh support as such, only maybe if it gets totally out of hand).

Toto

The forum on the whole is a great site (or at least it will be if my PC comes on time lol). Davey and Kris do a great job.

I suppose a little in the faq about how you work? E.g. how orders are carried out, does it take longer if you choose an ugraded PC, how many you ship etc.

Makes for good reading as we wait for our computers!

A loyal customer area where the longer you have been a customer the greater your discount on a new system, lets set a base discount of say 20% for starters.

Where do I sign??

9-10 years custom, 6 machines, recommendation sales, crikey I must be at 50% already.

I may have missed it, but simply having your various customer service numbers on your "Contact Us " section would be nice ... you have one number there, but its not the same as two other numbers I have on various documentation relating to specific departments.

Plus, perhaps, making the customer care forum more "official". At the moment it has very much an "as and when" feel to it.

I can ring up (on one of the numbers not shown here ) and speak to someone virtually straight away (albeit 9 times out of 10 they're not very helpful), whereas posts on here can often take a day or more to get an answer.

I'm not having a go or anything, I'm assuming that dealing with the forum is not your full time job

Personally I find that most times, it is still worth putting a post on here, rather than ringing direct, as you guys seem to know what you're on about and can get to the heart of things, whereas often the customer service guys seem less, erm, knowledgeable?

Oh, and I had to smile at the suggested gaming forum ... I can just see you getting stuck into that hehe

I belong to a fishing forum where if you post a thread and someone replies to it you are automatically informed my email that this has happened. Any chance that we could have the same thing here so that we don't have to keep checking back for replies. Thanks for the great Forum.

Hi Toto,

A good idea but it might be worth waiting until we get a little bigger. The section would likely start with a few posts and then go quiet just as the games section seems to have done.

Neccles,

I'm not sure there would be enough interest. It was always my intention to keep working on the FAQ adding new stuff as often as possible. By the time I add the memory/32bit limit FAQ we'll all be running 32gb machines or the like. Stuff like you suggest would likely appear one way or another over time I feel.

PrinceJaykay,

Good lord, 20% off? We'd be paying you to take the system of us at that rate..... There are ideas like this always flying around and I tend not to find out myself until the time they are launched but your suggestion will be passed on as a sort of MESH Owners Club membership link to it would be good.

Stumpy,

I'll look into the numbers query. I think they all were consolidated into one number with a menu that split calls into relevant subsections hence the single number but if there are multiple numbers for different purposes I'll get them added.

The gaming forum is open already, doesn't seem that popular though. I know I'm too busy playing the games to be talking about them outside of work

Geoff Lukins,

We had an issue with emails generated by the website host, which was recently resolved resulting in my receiving 3-4 months worth of emails telling me a private message had been received. I too have noticed that the forum isn't generating the notification emails and I also want them. I'll take a look into this issue as well and see what can be done.

Davey

Just a little thing, which doesn't relate to these forums, but rather your main website.

I doubt I am the only one to be annoyed by how items in the 'upgrade your MESH' come automatically ticked. Seeing as together they come to nearly £100 in cases, and free/cheaper options are available, I think they are prehaps a bit misleading!

I dare say it is just a way you make money, which is, I suppose, the point of a company!

seeing as there a lot of folk looking for the drivers for their systems after reinstalls of the OS, could there not be a section with all the systems Mesh has which has links to the drivers they need.

it would take a while to set up, but i think it would be a good part to have here, then update the systems as necessary.

just a thought?

Driver Info is a good idea.

I'd be interested in knowing how well new PC games play in the typical MESH computer, chip and graphics combos they sell.

I got a mid range system which is great for what I do with it, but my son is keen to use it for the new DirectX10 games. I'd like to know if Crysis would play at a satifactory level on my 8600GT card for instance. So perhaps you could set up some sort of table or format to list members experiences with their systems.

A similar thing - for hardware upgrade novices like me - would be a list of motherboards you sell and some info on what upgrade components are compatible and limitations. So I would know that I could fit x graphics card with y motherboard with confidence.

You would just add to the list as your products evolve, keeping your older customers/members with you. And of course, as members we'd get a nominal discount if we buy components from MESH!

Crysis would not play that well on an 8600 gt. Its a very demanding game that gives high end cards a hard time.

You could get away with running the game at 1024*768 with everything low and in Direct X 9 mode.

The 8600 gt is a decent mid range card and can handle most games out there, crysis probably being the only one it cannot.

Has your son tried Call of Duty 4? Its a very good game in terms of graphics/gameplay and would run reasonably well on an 8600 gt.
