Hi Davey
It seems a life time since I registered, so I can only go on memory [and I can't recall seeing anything] but would it be possible to have written somewhere nice and big, a notice suggesting people do not to use their email address as their user name?
Looking through the members list, several are listed.

I know you are happy to make any changes but by bringing it to peoples attention first, may make your life a little easier.
Just a suggestion.

Default Top bloke at Mesh

If you have tech problems with kit, a very sensible guy to talk to is Andrew Alechin. Not sure if I should name him but hopefully the moderators will pull the post if necessary!

Default DRIVERS Folder

This is more a packaging suggestion than a forum improvement.
Yet another owner has just re-installed without making a copy of C:\DRIVERS. How about recommending this on a large fluorescent Post It stuck to the front of every PC sent out? It would save a lot of hassle. I know it's in the guide but who reads it when a new toy arrives? Once a PC is up and running the guide goes to the back of a drawer and only sees the light of day after the folder has been deleted. I only made a backup because I knew it wasn't a standard folder.

Hi all,

Thanks for the suggestions. Please note that regardless of the information or answers I give, each and every suggestion is passed on to the relevant people and discussion will rarely stop here.

Neccles

The cheaper items are available however they are cheaper for a reason, for most of the systems, given who they are aimed at, the best options are intentionally ticked by default. Your query made me smile as it reminded me of the completely opposite query posted in the early days of our support forum at Hexus, where I had to answer a query why we had all of the cheapest options ticked when there were brand name items listed.

This would be very useful I think and was part of the intention however it's finding the time that is the problem. The FAQ project got put on hold over the Christmas period whilst it got busier and hopefully as it gets quieter again towards spring/summer then it can be picked up again. The posts for help come first though.

bigbadmadal

We do something similar for equipment when it is first evaluated/tested but these are more for internal use and given how much the systems vary after that point wouldn't be much use to the end-user. I'll certainly pass on the suggestion though.

dfh,

This would require heavy editing of the pages that make up the registration pages so would be our last resort. I did raise this point a week or two ago when I noticed the same and I believe something is being looked into with regards to this problem.

Steve D,

Yes he is a valued member of the team although he is a part of the Online Support team and is rarely available on the phones. He helps out with the phone from time to time when needed.

When the PC is packed the A3 getting started sheet should be the last thing to go in. The sheet has the diagrams of the standard PC design along with in red letters against the white/grey background to backup the drivers folder.

The problem is I don't think many people read it as the first step. The guide does hold a lot of common sense information and so likely is disregarded as not needed early on.

A lot of methods of having this message put across to our customers have been discussed and there is a plan we might be putting into action to help alleviate the problem soon.

Davey

Default Warranty Seal

Davey,
Can I make a suggestion to change the wording on the Warranty Seal?

There have been a load of the same questions regarding this issue. I.E.
"Will it affect my warranty if I open the case?"

It might be better to have wording simular to:
"Transportation Seal. Opening this case will not affect your warranty"

Just a thought

How about having polls on various subjects?

Mesh could use it for research purposes too

eg

'Are you happy with the customer services provided by Mesh?' YES/NO
