Default Forum Suggestions & Requests

Forum Suggestions & Requests

The Mesh Owners Club is a project that has been in development for some time however it is far from finished in terms of fulfilling it's potential.

We welcome any feedback, suggestions or requests regarding changes that we could make to the forum and overall Owners Club experience.

It's possible that some suggestions may not be possible given configuration, security and space restrictions so please do not be dis-heartened if your suggestion or idea is not taken up.

Whilst it will be good to promote active discussion of various ideas, please do avoid discussion of customers problems or general service queries/complaints. These of course are best placed in their own thread.

Hi all,

To kick things off, there was a recent query regarding forum avatars. There's a still an aspect of storage space and the security of the server to consider so whilst uploading your own Avatars is still not possible, we have added a large selection of Avatars in various categories to choose from.

If you're currently logged into the forum then click here to add one to your profile.

Although I haven't overclocked my Mesh, had you thought of having an oveclocking forum ? It would be an interesting subject for many people I feel.

Talking Put your clock back this month

Doubt that MESH could subscribe to an overclocking thread. Overclocking may invalidate your warranty....

Indeed! Which is why I made the point that I haven't overclocked. No, I was thinking of people who's guarantee had expired, they are sort of on their own anyway. Or, they may well have sufficient expertise to do this.
Just a thought.

Well, overclocking is a very risking thing. Overdo it a bit, one of your hardware will fry or burn. It is a risk for people to do it. Also, novices will be interested, and try it, and can very easily mess up, so I wouldn't put my chances up for an OCing forum.

Fair point! There are bound to be some, there usually is.

Hi bertie11,

It's an awkward situation. If improperly implemented, an over-clock could damage components which we would like to avoid causing if at all possible. Added to this fact is that damage to the components during the warranty period would invalidate the warranty.

I would have no problem with the modding section also hosting over clocking discussions, I'd even chip in if there's a question I can answer but it would have to be in an unofficial capacity on the understanding that MESH computers did not directly recommend any user over-clock's their system or components within.

How about having a section dedicated to gaming? It could have members reviews of games, their "This game is a must for any RTS fan" recommendations and their "Do not buy this piece of S**t" warnings. Members could check if their systems can run certain games *cough CRYSIS* well before purchasing. Members could also discuss gaming hardware like steering wheels and get technical advice / support on how to set them up on your system. If it proves successful the forum users could use the gaming forum to arrange battles on online games like "Enemy Territory: Quake Wars" (loving this game at the mo) & "Dawn Of War: Dark Crusade" or even make a mesh clan and take on the world!

Just an idea. Random, but an idea.

The Weekend has landed, C'mon.

Have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi AndyK85,

A games section was one of the initial ideas put forward. It wasn't decided not to have one, but to come back to it later after the basic support side of things had been established (after all, my manager would prefer me helping people as opposed to discussing WoW quest chains ).

I can open up the games section but it will be likely be quiet to start with until we get more like minded people in there I think.
