i have had the same problem with crysis. if i set the resolution too high the pointer acted as u described and the game graphics would jerk and crash at certain times. the only thing i could do to stop it was to lower the resolution settings until i got to a stage where the graphics and resolution were not doing it. i tried all the online patches but it made no diff. i am running a quad core pc with 2 sli 8600 graphics cards with 4gb mem on the motherboard.

To be honest that card will never play many games with high settings , your have to turn down the screen resolution along with some in game eye candy to be able to run Crysis
As for your old card , It's better minus the pixel shade 3 and dx10 , and when that was new it was around the £200 mark , where the card you have now you can get new for around £50

Also, when you lower the resolution you could turn off upscaling so that the picture still looks crisp. If you go into the graphics card setup (mine is ATI catalyst control centre) then you turn off upscaling in advanced settings. What this does is make the actual picture size get smaller instead of trying to fit the window into full screen (make sure you turn off full screen in the game options as well). This technique works well if you dont mind playing in a smaller screen size, but it really does improve the fps.
